Introduction
Champ 1 is the premier series at SimCar with the fastest cars. The races are longer, the cars have higher performance and race craft and strategy come to the fore.
Originally SimCar was planning an intermediate series with cars of roughly 400-500bhp and then in addition a top series with 700-800bhp cars. The intermediate series was known as Lights in homage to the old Indy Lights series. That series ran many mods including GP2 and A1GP. Eventually SimCar consolidated to one fast series called Champ1 which initially ran Nippons then Sauber BMW F1's. It's no secret that SimCar is based on American open wheel racing and in particular Champcar, so when iDT released the CCWS (Champcar) 2005/2006 we finally found our ideal cars.
To participate in the series drivers will need the SimCar Champ 1 download. The cars are basically identical to CCWS but for league purposes files are renamed and the Champcar skins are replaced with SimCar Team skins and SimCar general use skins. We call this the premier series at SimCar, but that is not to say it's elitist. Veterans and newcomers to the league are equally welcome to race!
More information and news about Champ 1 can be found in the SimCar Champ 1 forum section.
